Analysis
Apple quarter is a story of two halves. On one side, services revenue at an all-time high and 16% overall growth - the strongest in years. On the other, Greater China missing expectations, a reminder that the company most important overseas market remains under competitive and geopolitical pressure.
The services growth is the structural story. With over 2 billion active devices, Apple is converting its installed base into recurring revenue through subscriptions, payments and advertising. Services now account for roughly a quarter of total revenue, and their high margins are lifting the company profitability.
China is the swing factor. Huawei and domestic rivals are taking share in the premium segment, and the AI race has added a new layer of competition. Apple intelligence features are rolling out in Chinese, but the company faces a harder path to differentiation in a market where local firms control the AI ecosystem.
